Safe Haven for Youth Ethiopia (SHYE) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization incorporated in the United States and operating in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. SHYE provides services and programs designed to improve daily life and create a path to success for children between the ages of five and eighteen.

It is a bustling city that is home to the African Union & United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, which has lead it to often being referred to as the political capital of Africa.
Our Mission
SHYE’s mission is to create lasting, positive change in the lives of underprivileged children in Addis Ababa by providing quality education, educational support, a safe haven from the streets, healthcare, food and nutrition, psychosocial assistance and economic empowerment.
Our Vision
We envision a world where our graduates and their families break the cycle of poverty and become self-sufficient adults engaged in productive employment benefiting the local community as well as the larger Ethiopian nation.
